Nigerians have continued to lament the poor performance of
students in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
This comes after JAMB on Friday released its 2025 UTME
results.
Reacting, some Nigerians took to their social media accounts
to lament the candidates’ performance.
An X user, known as Oluwaseun, decried the poor performance
by students.
Oluwaseun shared a screenshot of a JAMB candidate’s result
who scored 132 this year but scored 295 last year.
“Something is seriously wrong with the recently released
UTME results.
“These scores do not reflect the abilities, efforts, or
track record of our students.
“Egbaze Victoria scored 295 in last year’s UTME, and now
she’s being told she scored 132? And many others,” he wrote on X Friday.
Another user known as Chukwuma Pius also shared a similar
experience to Oluwaseun, calling for a review of this year’s JAMB results.
“Please, there is a serious technical error with JAMB this
year. As a retired teacher, the result JAMB sent to my daughter this morning is
not her result.
“This is devastating. Hard work rewarded this way? Compare
her last year, 2025,” he wrote on X.
The comments come as JAMB, in a breakdown of the
performance, said that 1.5 million candidates scored less than 200.
Recall that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party
in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, said this year’s JAMB results were disturbing,
calling for urgent reforms.
