A Nigerian lady has shared a heartbreaking story about her aunt online, whose life took a dramatic turn after her husband left their family in pursuit of a male child.
According to a tweet she shared on X formerly known as Twitter her aunt got married in her mid-thirties and soon had four daughters in succession.
Despite being the breadwinner, her aunt had no idea that her husband silently resented her for not giving birth to a son.
She also stated in her tweets that her aunt had convinced her sisters to contribute money to send her husband abroad, with hopes that he would find opportunities that could uplift the entire family.
Six months after landing in Europe, the man became distant, rarely called his wife and children and when he finally did, he told his wife that he never loved her and asked her to move on with her life.
Adding that he had found a Spanish woman who would give me a son which he has always wanted and help him regularize his papers.
Heartbroken by her husband’s action, she reached out to his family and they supported their son’s decision forcing her to move out of their home in Lagos.
She turned to intense prayer and focused more on protecting and rebuilding her life.
However, in less than a year her husband was deported back to Nigeria penniless after fallen into bad company abroad.
He and his family tried reaching out to her to beg for forgiveness but she had already moved on.
