Prophet Emmanuel Obafemi, the spiritual leader of The Israelite Ministry (ITM), has called on pastors and Christian leaders to shift their focus from gospel artists to the welfare and well-being of their congregation.
Speaking during a live radio program on Diamond FM, Prophet Obafemi expressed concern over the worsening economic situation in the country, placing the blame on political leaders and poor governance. He questioned the lack of genuine love among the church community, emphasizing that the core of Christianity is rooted in love, not prosperity.
“God said, if you reduce the number of people suffering in Christendom, you would be fulfilling the true purpose of Christianity. Christian leaders have lost focus on love—the main essence of the faith. Prosperity is not the foundation; it is only an added virtue,” he stated.
The Israelite Ministry (ITM) is widely known for its commitment to demonstrating Christ’s love through various outreach programs. These include the Widows Helping Day, a dedicated day to support widows, and Children’s Day, aimed at reaching out to children from underprivileged backgrounds, among other initiatives.
