BAR. OZUMBA DELIVERS BUILDING PROJECTS; A BLOCK OF EIGHT CLASSROOMS, TWO OFFICES AND, A BLOCK OF FIVE SCIENCE LABORATORIES IN TWO SCHOOLS; ANAMBRA DEPUTY GOVERNOR PERFORMS THE COMMISSIONING.
Wednesday, the 23rd of April, 2025 was a remarkable day in Dunukofia LGA, following the commissioning of two quality infrastructural projects:
1) Construction/Completion of the age-long abandoned Block of Eight spacious Classrooms plus Two Conducive Offices sitting on a two plots of land at Udodimma Primary School, Ukwulu community; and
2) Reconstruction of long dilapidated Block of Five Science Laboratories sitting on over one plot of land at the Walter Eze Memorial Secondary School, Ukpo community (formally Ukpo Boys Secondary School),
all in Dunukofia LGA, delivered by the Mayor of Dunukofia Local Government Council, Chijioke C. Ozumba Esq. (Ifezulumba Dunukofia)
The two projects were yesterday commissioned by the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Gilbert Onyekachukwu Ibezim, and they’re part of the “Community Choose Your Own Project”, initiated by the Dunukofia Mayor, Bar. Ozumba in his bid to compliment Mr. Governor, Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s tremendous infrastructural development and educational achievements in Anambra State.
During the commissioning ceremony, the Dunukofia Mayor who represented the Deputy Governor stated that he aims at enhancing security and safety in Dunukofia educational institutions, improving the quality of education within the LGA by building and upgrading school facilities, providing necessary educational materials and resources for schools in Dunukofia, enhancing educational infrastructure and resources, creating more conducive learning environment, potentially leading to better academic performance among the students, providing a secure learning environment for students, teachers and staff, minimizing the incidents of trespassing and vandalism and, providing a safer educational atmosphere to enhance academic pursuits among our wards across Dunukofia LGA.
He further noted that Mr. Solution Governor has done great in education and infrastructure in Anambra State, citing the ongoing free education programme and upgrading of Umunnachi Community Secondary School to a Smart School and that he (Mr. Governor) needs to be given unflinching supports by all quarters.
The Member representing Dunukofia Constituency at the Anambra State 8th Assembly, Hon. Chuks Azotani who was present at the occasion spoke extensively on the need for Ndi Dunukofia to channel their support to the Solution Governor and Dunukofia Mayor, Ozumba.
Hon. Azotani who unveiled the project’s plaques affirmed that Bar. Ozumba just like Mr. Solution Governor in three years, has done so well in his six months in office. He also described him (Bar. Ozumba) as a good leader who has prioritized unity, peace and progress. He vowed to always support Ozumba’s programmes, projects and other of his administrative activities.
Others in attendance includes; wife of the Dunukofia Mayor, Mrs. Ozumba Okwuchukwu Patience, the Secretary to the Dunukofia Local Government Council, the Leader and Congress of Councillors, Supervisory Councillors, the Chairman of APGA Dunukofia, former Transition Committee Chairman of Dunukofia Local Government Council, the Schools’ Management, Clergies, President Generals of Ukpo and Ukwulu communities and others.
We thank the Mayor of Dunukofia for making Education a priority and putting up long term capital intensive and essential structures in place towards giving Dunukofia children better learning conditions, higher result patterns compared to their peers nationally or globally and especially, brighter future through education.
We pray for provision of more resources to enable the Mayor accomplish more of his set goals and objectives in education and all sectors.
