Apple to Pay $95 Million To Settle Allegations of Unauthorized Siri Recordings

Tech giant, Apple has been ordered to pay $95 million to settle a class-action lawsuit.

The suit alleged that Apple’s Siri voice assistant recorded private conversations without user consent.

The suit claims Siri-enabled devices captured sensitive data, including medical info, business dealings, and private moments, often triggered accidentally between 2014 and 2024.

This settlement affects users who experienced unintended Siri activations, potentially leading to compensation for those impacted.

However, eligible users may receive up to $20 per device, with a maximum payout of $100 for multiple devices.

To be eligible for a payout, consumers must have used Siri-enabled Apple devices (iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Apple Watches, and Apple TVs) between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024.
