A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers
State and a close ally to former Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, Chief Eze
Chukwuemeka Eze, has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may not even contest
the 2027 presidential election.
Eze said the 2027 election would come with a lot of
surprises, especially if the USA releases the alleged file on Mr President.
He also said that the ex-Transport Minister is the right
candidate to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Eze said that Nigerians are reaching out to him to enquire
on a daily basis about the political interest and direction of Amaechi, ahead
of 2027, particularly his ambition to lead the country.
Eze, in a statement made available to the media, said
Nigerians reach out to him on the same subject, “whether Amaechi is ready to
run for President in 2027” or “whether Amaechi has interest for 2027” or “ what
is the political direction of Amaechi for 2027”, and the likes.
The former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New
People’s Democratic Party, nPDP, said, “Nigerians are reaching out to know the
interest of Amaechi because the current administration is not concerned about
the problems of the country.
“A government whose focus is to manipulate the process to
retain power in 2027, has failed.
“The wobbling economy, hunger and starvation, insecurity and
violent killings and other heinous crimes perpetrated in daily basis should
give any responsible government a sense of concern.
“But despite the mounting challenges, the presidency is
plotting to retain power by all means. That is not how leadership works. It is
not democracy.
“So, Nigeria needs direction and is understandable why
people are calling on Amaechi to take action.”
He said, “of a fact, Amaechi remains a pride to Nigeria and
his public service records makes him an ideal Presidential material and
Nigerians quit understands that.
“The likes of Amaechi are needed in the scene in order to
assuage the suffering and rescue Nigeria from her present precarious State.
Amaechi would sacrifice anything to make Nigeria work.
“2027 will be full of surprises, Tinubu may not be in
position to even stand the election he plans to manipulate if the USA lives to
her billing and releases the alleged file on Mr. President.
“Ordinarily, the failure of his government which stares us
all on our faces inhibits the president to think of reelection.”
