The Gombe State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, CC Gyama Gyawiya, says the newly acquired operational vehicles would help combat crimes in the state.
Addressing journalists at the command’s headquarters, Gyawiya hailed Governor Muhammadu Yahaya for his unwavering support to the corps.
Arewa PUNCH reports that the government donated three brand-new operational vehicles and refurbished five grounded ones, and an additional one from a private individual identified as Gen Hassan.
Gyawiya said, “We have witnessed a tremendous transformation. This act of generosity is not just a logistical boost for us but a powerful message that the safety and security of the people of Gombe State remain a top priority of this administration.”
The commandant praised the governor’s confidence in the NSCDC, stating, “The governor’s love for the security and well-being of the people, and his confidence in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, are deeply evident in this gesture.”
Gyawiya assured the governor and the people of Gombe State that the operational vehicles would be used effectively to maintain peace, protect critical infrastructure, and support lawful efforts to secure lives and property.
